‘Castle Rock’ season 2 confirms misery’s arrival with premiere date

Hulu has confirmed that misery will be arriving this fall with an official premiere date for season 2 of Castle Rock.

It looks like season 2 of our beloved show will be hitting the streaming service Oct. 23 and will center around Annie Wilkes from Stephen King’s novel Misery.

According to ComingSoon, “The upcoming season will explore a feud between warring clans that comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes (played by Lizzy Caplan), King’s nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock.”

The season 2 cast includes Lizzy Caplan, who will be taking on the iconic role of Misery’s Annie Wilkes.

It will also feature Oscar winner Tim Robbins, Elsie Fisher, Barkhad Abdi, Yusra Warsama, Paul Sparks, Matthew Alan and John Hoogenakker.

Guest stars are expected to include Robin Weigert as Annie Wilkes’ mother Crysilda Wilkes, Sarah Gadon, Alison Wright and Greg Grunberg.

For those who may not know, the series is set in Stephen King’s horror-filled multiverse in a fictional Maine town called Castle Rock.

The series combines some of the author’s best-loved works in a psychological horror TV series you can stream on Hulu.

The first season of the series stars André Holland (Moonlight), Melanie Lynskey (Togetherness), Sissy Spacek (Carrie), Bill Skarsgård (IT), Jane Levy (Don’t Breathe) and Scott Glenn (Daredevil).

Season 2 will premiere on the streaming service Oct. 23.
