Once Upon A Deadpool is days away from release, but that doesn’t mean Fox is ceasing with the teasers.

Today’s valiant effort of Deadpool defending Nickelback from Fred Savage’s criticism might just be the best yet.

While discussing whether or not Deadpool is a Marvel movie Savage points out it’s licensed by Fox and compares it to one of the internet’s favorite memes:

“It’s like if the Beatles were produced by Nickelback. It’s music, but it sucks.”

Savage then calls them “overproduced, formulaic ear garbage,” to which Deadpool launches into defense of “all this Nickelback hating.”

There’s then an epic sing-along, which needs to be seen to be believed. Check out the clip below.

What we know about Once Upon A Deadpool so far

In late September, the internet first caught wind of a PG-13 re-release of Deadpool 2. Known for its crude but hilarious charm, the re-release of the May 2018 film was rumored to tone down the explicit content enough to bring it down from its “R” rating to a “PG-13.”

At the time, not much was known about the film other than Fox shot new footage (which was later revealed to be 20 minutes worth of new content). Deadpool himself Ryan Reynolds also released a teaser photo, giving hints to what exactly the re-release would be about.

Reynolds tweeted an image of Deadpool in a Santa hat alongside Fred Savage appearing to reprise his role as “The Grandson” in The Princess Bride. That was later confirmed with the first trailer.

The movie will have a limited-time run this December. It will also be donating part of the proceeds to Fuck Cancer (renamed Fudge Cancer for PG-13-friendly marketing).

“Fox has been asking for a PG-13 basically since the start in 2006,” Reynolds told Deadline. “I’ve said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said ‘Yes’ on two conditions. First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining…”

Once Upon A Deadpool hits theaters Dec. 12. Check out the full trailer below.
