Another song off twenty one pilots’ ‘Trench’ just reached a milestone
This week, twenty one pilots are adding another major music milestone to their long list of achievements.
Another one of their songs from 2018's Trench has just been certified Gold in the United States.
Awards and certifications are nothing new for Josh Dun and Tyler Joseph. Back in June, their video for "Ride," off of Blurryface, hit over a billion views on YouTube. This feat makes "Ride" the third twenty one pilots video to reach over one billion views. “Stressed Out” currently has 2 billion views and “Heathens” has reached over 1.5 billion views.
As well, shortly following the release of “Level of Concern,” the single shot to No.1 on Billboard’s Alternative Song Chart. This accomplishment marks the seventh, yes seventh, twenty one pilots song to reach the No.1 spot. This also puts twenty one pilots in seventh place for most songs to reach the top of the chart. Red Hot Chili Peppers hold the top spot with 13 No. 1’s.
Now, the duo is celebrating another major music milestone. "The Hype," off of Trench, is officially certified Gold in the United States. This latest certification means that the equivalent of 500,000 sales of "The Hype" have been made since its release nearly two years ago.
Back in May, the entire Trench album earned a Platinum certification. "The Hype" now joins "Jumpsuit," "My Blood" and "Nico And The Niners" which are all also certified Gold. "Chlorine" surpassed its Gold certification and is now Platinum.
Along with Trench, Blurryface has also led to various music milestones. Back in April, twenty one pilots became the first and only musical group to have every song on one album streamed over 100 million times on Spotify.
twenty one pilots are continuing to push the boundaries in music. Shortly following the release of "Level Of Concern," Dun and Joseph launched the first-ever never-ending music video that is still streaming now.
