We’ve heard a lot of new music from MOD SUN in 2020. Earlier this year, he dropped the mega-hit “Stay Away” which features MGK and Goody Grace. Both MGK and MOD SUN even put out an acoustic rendition of the collab back in July. Additionally, he has released  “Kinda Like It Now,” an acoustic version of “I Remember Way Too Much” and even helped write MGK’s Tickets To My Downfall single “bloody valentine.”

Then, on Oct. 30, MOD SUN dropped his pop-punk anthem “Karma.” Produced by the legendary John Feldmann, MOD SUN shares that both this song and his upcoming release are “the best music” he’s ever created.

“Without a doubt, this is the best music I’ve made in my entire career,” he says. “When John Feldmann and I got into the studio it was lighting in a bottle. I’m writing my most vulnerable music and even playing live drums on my songs for the first time.”

For “Karma” in particular, he believes that the song truly captures the energy that is felt during his live sets.

“With ‘Karma,’ I finally feel like I’ve captured the energy I bring to my live performances into a song,” he continues. “This was the first song Feldmann and I made together and it shaped the entire album. This is a song you can send to anyone who ever made fun of you in high school.”

Now, it looks like MOD SUN has teamed up with Machine Gun Kelly again for the single’s colorful new video. He exclusively told Alternative Press that MGK was involved with “Karma” long before becoming the video’s director.

“With ‘Karma’ for instance, I was like, ‘yo I made like four songs the other day check these out,'” he says. “I played him [MGK] ‘Karma’ and he was like, ‘that’s the first song you’re releasing. You’re releasing that song first and I don’t even want to hear you doing something else. That’s the song, take a swing, that is the best MOD SUN song I have ever heard and that’s what I want the world to hear from you.'”

The “Karma” video truly reminds listeners that what goes around comes around. MOD SUN can be seen rocking out on the drums while detailing a past relationship that turned sour. The acoustic guitar breakdowns and rock influence on “Karma” marks a departure from MOD SUN’s past sounds while offering a look at what’s to come from his forthcoming release which he plans to drop this year.
