‘The Umbrella Academy’ has shared some major teasers
The Twitter account for the series decided to treat fans with little teasers if they tweeted at them.
“We’re lifting the umbrella and giving you a look,” the tweet reads. “Mention @umbrellaacad with #UmbrellaAcademy and one of the listed emojis to get a sneak peak.” A video showing the said emojis was attached.
The emojis included an hourglass, a knife, a pill, a flexing arm, the “shh” emoji, a skull and crossbones, a violin and a donut. Also, the video promised the tweeted would be “super worth it.”
As fans started to tweet each emoji, they were given personalized sneak peeks into the series based on what they chose. You can see each one below.

However, those who tweeted the skull and crossbones have yet to be answered yet, unless that’s on purpose.
The Umbrella Academy is based off of comics written by the former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way. Back in July 2017, we caught wind that The Umbrella Academy could potentially be getting a Netflix adaptation. A few days later, Way confirmed the series was headed to Netflix.
So, Ellen Page will play Vanya, the black sheep of her dysfunctional family of superheroes, known as the Umbrella Academy. The rest of the dysfunctional family include Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castañeda), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Vanya (Page), Klaus (Robert Sheehan) and Number Five (Aidan Gallagher). The story follows the family as they “work together to solve their father’s mysterious death while coming apart at the seams due to their divergent personalities and abilities.”
Also, Steve Blackman will take the executive producer role, with Jeremy Slater writing the pilot script. Way will serve as co-executive producer, Deadline explains. The series has also been confirmed for 10 episodes.
The Umbrella Academy hits Netflix this Friday. Check out the trailer for the series below.
