The adaptation comes from Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (The Expanse, Iron Man), as well as Rafe Judkins (The Wheel of Time, Uncharted).

This new show would add to a long list of video games expanding into broader media. Sony recently turned Uncharted into a movie, and there is a Ghost of Tsushima movie on the way.

Amazon is also currently developing a show based on Fallout. Other video game adaptations hitting streaming services soon include HBO‘s The Last Of Us and Paramount+‘s Halo series.

Representatives from both Sony and Amazon Studios declined to comment on Deadline’s story. But if the revelation is any indication, Kratos might soon be conquering another format.

Could another Spider-Man MCU crossover movie be in the works? https://www.altpress.com/spider-man-crossover-tom-holland/ Fri, 04 Feb 2022 00:33:15 +0000 https://www.altpress.com/spider-man-crossover-tom-holland/ Tom Holland recently told Variety another Spider-Man crossover movie with all three web slingers from the franchise could happen in the future. “It was one of those things — it was a an idea for a long time and an idea that always seemed impossible,” Holland says. “Could it happen? Of course it could happen. We’ve done it once before. Will it happen? I don’t know.”

The three Spidey’s from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Holland, famously came together in the hugely successful Spider-Man: No Way HomeThe film not only received massive support from fans, but it has also garnered Oscar speculations.

“It would be a huge honor for it to be nominated for an Oscar,” Holland says. “But I think I can speak on behalf of everyone at Marvel and Sony and particularly [director] Jon Watts, the fan reaction that we’ve received — the love and support — is enough.”

“We have created something that has been such a culturally enriching experience for so many people, that watching those fan reactions to when [Garfield] comes through and [Maguire] comes through and [Garfield] saves Zendaya, I will never be able to live that down,” Holland continued. “That is just incredible. And for me, to be able to share that with the world is enough.”

Spider-Man’s new look? Official concept artist imagines Tom Holland’s Venom suit https://www.altpress.com/spider-man-venom-suit-designs/ Fri, 07 Jan 2022 00:30:07 +0000 The official Spider-Man: No Way Home concept artist Thomas du Crest has revealed new imaginings of possible designs for Tom Holland. The renderings showcase the actor in a Venom symbiote suit.

The artist shared the new designs on Twitter, writing, “While I wait for the greenlight to show the work I did for #spidermannowayhome , here is a small take on what might come next.”

The post comes after the newest Spider-Man movie included a suggestive hint about Venom during an end-credits scene. It also follows the news that Sony are looking to create another Marvel Studios trilogy, one that could keep Holland‘s Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In a conversation with Fandango, producer Amy Pascal commented on how No Way Home would not be the last time we saw Holland as our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

When asked about the possibility of a Venom crossover, Pascal didn’t confirm or deny the idea. Even so, she suggested the vision for Spider-Man will continue to be ambitious.

“I would say there’s so many things that we’re going to be able to explore, but what we always have to do before we decide who the villain is going to be and what Spidey goes up against is: What is the story we’re telling about?” she says. “What’s the Peter Parker story we’re telling? What’s the Miles Morales story that we’re telling? But we always have to start with that. The good thing about these movies is as big as the canvas they take place on can be, they are always just stories about a kid.”

Watch the new, action-packed trailer for ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ https://www.altpress.com/news-new-trailer-venom-let-there-be-carnage/ Mon, 02 Aug 2021 22:55:08 +0000 A new preview of Venom: Let There Be Carnage has finally arrived. The action-packed trailer is less than three minutes long, but a lot was revealed about the sequel to 2018’s Venom in that short amount of time. The movie, from director Andy Serkis and screenwriter Kelly Marcel, is set for a Sept. 24 release after the original release date was thwarted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tom Hardy will reprise his role as the ill-fated Eddie Brock, a journalist adjusting to being inhabited by an alien that calls itself Venom. Brock visits the infamous serial killer, Cletus Kasady, played by Woody Harrelson, for an interview. After Kasady bites him, he accidentally spawns another alien. Appropriately called Carnage, the red pest intimidates even Venom. It sports barbed tendrils sticking out of its back, razor-sharp teeth and an unending tongue.

Fans took to Twitter to show their excitement—along with their capacity to come up with a quick meme.

Fans will also be happy to know that Michelle Williams is set to return as Brock’s ex in a side plot. Shriek, played by Naomie Harris, also makes a short appearance in the preview.

With Venom: Let There Be Carnage comes the question of if the Spider-Man cinematic universe will tie into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the trailer for Sony’s Morbius, fans can see an image of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man with the word “murderer” written across the photo. Some think this has something to do with Spider-Man getting accused of killing Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Maguire was most likely used because Marvel owns all the rights to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

Further proof comes with the cross-franchise and cross-studio casting for the highly anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home. Alfred Molina will return as Doctor Octopus, and Jamie Foxx will return as Electro for the film.

Eventually, Anthony starts to lose track of reality while confined within the four walls of his flat.

Ledward accepted the Critics Choice Best Actor award on Boseman’s behalf. During her moving speech, Ledward thanked all of the people in Boseman’s life that supported him over the years.

“It is so hard to find a celebratory feeling in these moments as proud as we are of him. Yes, for his work but even more just for who he is as a person. His work deserves this, his work in this film deserves this, he deserves this. So, he would always thank God first and foremost in everything. He would always honor his mother and his father. He would always acknowledge those who came before him, those who chartered the path, those who gave him their gifts.

[Chad] may say something about the importance of this story, about the importance of black voices telling black stories. He may take this moment to give honor to August Wilson, one of the greatest playwrights of our time. As I recently read, societies grow great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they may never sit. Our society may be a far cry from great, but I know that the seeds you planted will grow into forests. One day, we too will be tall enough to reach the heavens. Thank you Critics Choice and thank you, Chad.”

Apparently Twitter knows something about that ‘Spider-Man 3’ cast rumor https://www.altpress.com/apparently-twitter-knows-something-about-that-spider-man-3-cast-rumor/ Fri, 05 Mar 2021 02:39:45 +0000 It’s time for your weekly update about your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. This week, Spider-Man: No Way Home sent fans into a frenzy over one simple post.

As it turns out, Twitter may know something about those Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield casting rumors we don’t.

Read more: Some fans think blink-182 and Tom DeLonge are up to something

For what seems like a century now, rumors have been swirling that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are reprising their Peter Parker roles in Spider-Man: No Way Home. So far, however, both Sony and Marvel have denied these casting rumors. However, a leaked Sony marketing video and those recent Spider-Man 3 fake title teasers have some fans convinced otherwise. Tom Holland even tried to shoot down the casting rumors, but failed to persuade fans on multiple occasions.

Now, it looks like Twitter apparently knows something MCU fans don’t about Spider-Man: No Way Home. This week, Twitter’s own verified account took on the honorable duty of writing profile bios for various users. However, Spider-Man: No Way Home didn’t get quite the bio it was hoping for when the account asked Twitter to write one.

#SpiderManNoWayHome starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield, only in movie theaters this Christmas.”

Of course, it’s unknown if Twitter is simply trolling Spider-Man 3 or if this is Marvel’s cryptic way of confirming those casting rumors. Nevertheless, the tweet has sent the rumor mill on fire. And no, Spider-Man: No Way Home hasn’t updated its Twitter bio yet.

More on Spider-Man: No Way Home

Last month, a casting call for CL Casting announced a film titled The November Project is looking to cast extras for a courtroom scene in Georgia. For those of you who don’t know, The November Project is one of the working titles for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The scene in question is looking for extras to play an attorney, a stenographer and a videographer. However, no other details have been released at this time. This latest news arrives shortly after rumors emerged that Charlie Cox‘s Matt Murdock may make an appearance in the new film.

Over the past few months, a lot of new information about Spider-Man: No Way Home has emerged. Along with Benedict Cumberbatch who is returning as Doctor Strange in the new film, Jamie Foxx is also reportedly returning as Electro. Similarly, Alfred Molina is rumored to be reprising his Doctor Octopus role. More recently, new rumors also surfaced that Willem Dafoe is back as Green Goblin.

According to a recent a 4chan leak, Spider-Man allegedly faces the repercussions of Scarlet Witch opening the multiverse at the end of WandaVision. Eventually, this causes Holland to unite with Garfield and Maguire’s Peter Parkers. Together, they must work together to defeat the villains from their past and, according to the leak, there are a lot of them in this new film.

However, the leak did say that the new film is called Spider-Man: Homeworlds which we now know isn’t the case. So it’s possible the details mentioned in this leak are far from how the film will actually play out.

Despite this, Sony did recently release a massive hint about the new film. Last month, Sony shared a cryptic clue that alludes to one of the storylines in Spider-Man: No Way Home. By the looks of it, the upcoming movie is going to address that massive Far From Home cliffhanger with Mysterio and Peter Parker.

As well, an eagle-eyed fan recently spotted a big detail on the set of Spider-Man 3 that may have confirmed a new villain is joining the MCU in the new movie.
