Now, Lily Rabe has revealed that filming for the upcoming season reminds her of a particular fan-favorite storyline from years ago.

After facing delays amid the COVID-19 crisis, filming for season 10 finally began late last year. For Lily Rabe, being on the set of American Horror Story again is bringing back some major nostalgia vibes. In fact, she is comparing the upcoming season and the energy on set to the fan-favorite season American Horror Story: Murder House.

Ryan Murphy is one of the greatest people to work for. There’s a reason that those who work for him continue to work for him,” she tells Forbes. “I can’t believe this is season ten. I think the fact we get to have so many of the same people returning this season, there is this feeling of coming home. You get to tell a new story, play a new part, but the backbone of the thing is solid. It is wonderful getting into the sandbox again and have Ryan at the helm. I’m excited about this season, and I’m not alone in that. You can feel the energy on set. It’s just like it felt on season one.”

Although Ryan Murphy prefers to stay cryptic regarding AHS, big details regarding season 10 have already been revealed. Last fall, Sarah Paulson hinted that a controversial plot from a previous season may make a return in season 10.

Then, in November, Murphy finally unveiled the official poster for AHS season 10. The image features a fang-filled mouth getting a tongue tattoo, an image similar to one Murphy shared on his Instagram months prior. Many theorize the sharp teeth could be a hint that season 10 will include mermaids. As well, Murphy tagged the post in Provincetown, Massachusetts, a location fans began theorizing about last year.

Finally, last month, the actual theme for American Horror Story season 10 may have been revealed. According to CBS Boston, the Provincetown Select Board approved Murphy’s plans to film a project called “Pilgrim” in Cape Cod. The name of the project could be a major hint to what season 10 is about.

“There have been many inquires for information about the Ryan Murphy filming of ‘American Horror Story’ season 10,” interim town manager Charles Sumner said. “The only information we have shared with the press is 20th Century Fox Television has applied for the filming of the production ‘Pilgrim.’”

CBS Boston goes on to report that filming in the area is set to happen this February and wrap up in March. As well, according to the Cape Cod Times, 20th Century Fox submitted some vague descriptions of the scenes that will be filmed.

“In the application, there are bare-bone descriptions of what would be happening in the scenes,” the report says. “Such as people walking up the steps of the monument and around town, talking outside of a restaurant and vehicles driving about. The most vivid scene descriptions involve a Jeep driving along Route 6 and coming across a dead deer, and simulated gunfire in a cul de sac.”

Although it’s unknown if this “Pilgrim” project is actually American Horror Story season 10, it would make sense. Last year, Murphy shared a cryptic photo of a Provincetown beach, where he is reportedly filming.

Additionally, Billie Lourd reportedly confirmed that “pilgrim” is a key clue to American Horror Story season 10.

“I actually looked up what is already out about American Horror Story so I didn’t screw it up. What I can say is that it involves sharp teeth, Provincetown, and I think I can say the word Pilgrim? I think I might get in trouble, but I don’t think I will. [I] think it’s already out there. I think Angelica Ross said it, so if anybody’s in trouble, it’s Angelica Ross.”

The confirmed cast of season 10 includes Paulson, Lourd, Rabe, Evan PetersKathy BatesLeslie GrossmanAdina Porter, Angelica Ross and Finn Wittrock. Macaulay Culkin will also be joining as an AHS newcomer. At this time, AHS season 10 does not have a confirmed release date.

Along with American Horror Story, Murphy is also launching the spinoff series American Horror Stories. In November, Murphy dropped the show’s official poster and confirmed plenty of familiar AHS faces are returning for the spinoff.

Now, it looks like the theme for the upcoming season may have just been revealed.

There’s a lot of mystery surrounding the forthcoming season of American Horror Story. Production for season 10 was set to begin last spring. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, filming was delayed until last fall.

Ryan Murphy previously shared that season 10’s original plot was greatly dependent on warmer weather. Since production resumed this fall during the colder months, Murphy possibly had to reevaluate a lot of details.

“A lot of what I was going to shoot was dependent on a very specific moment,” Murphy said. “It was a weather-dependent show. So now I don’t know. I don’t know what we’re going to do, don’t know what I’m going to do next with that show. I don’t know if I’ll accelerate another season or wait til next year to shoot this one.”

Prior to this news, Murphy had already shared various hints about season 10’s theme. However, seeing as many details surrounding the season may have changed, it’s unknown if these clues still allude to the final theme we will see play out in season 10.

However, back in November, Murphy finally unveiled the official poster for AHS season 10. A previous plot line could return in ‘American Horror Story’ season 10 https://www.altpress.com/american-horror-story-season-10-aliens/ Fri, 02 Oct 2020 23:51:52 +0000 Last month, Sarah Paulson confirmed that filming for season 10 of American Horror Story begins this fall.

Now, Paulson may have just hinted that a controversial plot line from Asylum is returning for the new season.

Filming for American Horror Story season 10 was set to begin this past spring. However, due to coronavirus, filming was suspended indefinitely. Ryan Murphy previously shared that season 10’s original storyline was heavily based on warm weather. Since production was delayed until this fall, Murphy said the entire plan for season 10 could change.

“A lot of what I was going to shoot was dependent on a very specific moment,” Murphy said. “It was a weather-dependent show. So now I don’t know. I don’t know what we’re going to do.”

Now, Paulson may have hinted at what’s in store for the new AHS season. The actress recently took part in a video interview with Harper’s BAZAAR. During the interview, she is asked about the popular fan theory that season 10 may be about aliens.

Paulson tries to keep it coy with her response, but she does say that the inclusion of aliens in season 10 is “possible.”

“I plead the Fifth… everyone’s gonna think that’s me confirming it,” she says. “I just think it’s possible, how about that? I think that is… possible. I’m gonna get in so much trouble!”

Murphy previously revealed that a big hint about season 10’s plot can be found in the eighth episode of American Horror Story: 1984. In the episode, Star Trek‘s Leonard Nimoy is name-dropped in a line that talks about other paranormal creatures.

“Back in the ’70s, all anyone cared about was Bigfoot, aliens, the Loch Ness monster… all that Leonard Nimoy ‘In Search Of’ shit.”

As well, the same scene also mentions the National Enquirer. If you remember, this publication awarded $5,000 to Travis Walton for “best UFO case of the year” after he was allegedly abducted by aliens.

Aliens were also part of the plot in American Horror Story: Asylum. The inclusion of the UFOs was pretty controversial and a lot of viewers didn’t like it. Murphy, however, previously explained that there was a specific reason aliens were part of season 2.

For me, [aliens] were always an obvious metaphor for God,” he says. “It fit very easily into the world of a Catholic sanitarium asylum… It was also about science versus faith so it made sense to me.”

He also said that he loves the idea of aliens and the inclusion of them in season 2. So, perhaps Murphy has decided to bring them back for season 10?

“The show is a show that pays tribute to a lot of horror masters,” Murphy said. “We take that seriously, so I always loved the alien idea of it, I loved what it was, I loved what it was about.”

Joining Paulson for season 10 are Evan PetersKathy BatesLeslie GrossmanBillie LourdAdina PorterLily RabeAngelica Ross and Finn Wittrock. Macaulay Culkin will also be joining as an AHS newcomer.

There is no word yet on if Emma Roberts will be making an appearance in the new season. Roberts recently announced that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Garrett Hedlund.

As well, Lourd just welcomed her first child with her fiance Austen Rydell. The couple decided to name their son in honor of Lourd’s late mother and legendary actress Carrie Fisher.

Sarah Paulson opens up on “intimidating” ‘AHS’ return amid the pandemic https://www.altpress.com/sarah-paulson-american-horror-story-season-10-return/ Sat, 05 Sep 2020 01:31:56 +0000 https://www.altpress.com/sarah-paulson-american-horror-story-season-10-return/ Due to coronavirus, season 10 of American Horror Story has been significantly delayed. So much so that Ryan Murphy previously revealed the entire storyline may be changed completely after revealing various hints over the past few months.

Now, Sarah Paulson is opening up about her anticipated return to the American Horror Story set after missing out on American Horror Story: 1984. As well, she’s revealing all of the precautions the series is taking amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Back in May, Paulson revealed the real reason she didn’t appear in AHS: 1984. This year, Paulson starred in Hulu‘s Mrs. America. However, filming for AHS and Mrs. America clashed so, to the disappointment of fans, she was unable to appear in 1984.

Paulson is now back, however, and is starring in American Horror Story season 10. In a new interview, Paulson says her return to the series’ set will “nerve-wracking” amid the coronavirus pandemic. However, the American Horror Story team will have many precautions in place when filming begins in October.

“In terms of protocols, you can’t even imagine the emails I get and the documents I get,” she says. “And the consideration around all of it has been extraordinary.”

She further elaborates that she and her co-stars feel as protected as possible with the rules put in place by both Disney and Murphy.

“Disney and Ryan Murphy Television have all been very, very on top of it,” she continues. “And so I feel as protected as I can feel, given that I will be mask-free, working on a set around a bunch of people. So it’s definitely intimidating and nerve-wracking.”

For Paulson, getting back to “normal” will be a big change of pace after spending so many months at home.

“But I’ve been told by people who have done it, that the lead up to it – because we’ve all been our houses for months and months and all of a sudden what was normal, to spend hours and hours on set with over a hundred people, now seems so far away and so impossible to imagine that the thought of doing it feels really scary.”

Joining Paulson for season 10 will be Evan PetersKathy BatesLeslie GrossmanBillie LourdAdina PorterLily RabeAngelica Ross and Finn Wittrock. Macaulay Culkin will also be joining as an AHS newcomer.

There is no word yet on if Emma Roberts will be making an appearance in the new season. Roberts recently announced that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Garrett Hedlund.

Paulson’s latest project with Murphy Nurse Ratched premieres on Netflix Sept. 18. The new series is based on the infamous villain from One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest – Nurse Ratched. The show’s first trailer was unveiled back in August.

During a recent TCA panel, Paulson also announced that she is directing an episode of Murphy’s American Horror Stories. The forthcoming spinoff series will air exclusively on FX and Hulu. A lot of information is still unknown about American Horror Stories. However, we do know that the series will include “one-hour contained episodes.”

We’re closer to knowing what ‘American Horror Story’ season 10 is about https://www.altpress.com/american-horror-story-ryan-murphy-season-10-clue/ Thu, 28 May 2020 00:42:42 +0000 Even though fans won’t be getting season 10 of American Horror Story until next year, the show’s creator Ryan Murphy is still teasing what the new season will be about.

In a new post this week, Murphy has revealed another clue about what fans can expect to see in the new AHS season.

Murphy began teasing clues to AHS fans about what season 10 will entail back in February. He first teased the potential theme for the new season and posted another teaser hinting the new season focuses heavily on the beach.

However, plans for season 10 quickly began to change as the year progressed. Murphy planned to begin filming American Horror Story’s tenth season earlier this year. However, the coronavirus pandemic put a halt to the show’s production.

In an interview at the start of May, Murphy shared that the plot of season 10 is heavily reliant on warm weather. This falls in line with the past clues involving the beach and sunny weather. Since filming has been pushed back significantly into possibly the latter part of the year, Murphy said that season 10 may have to change in its entirety.

However, it now appears that this may not be the case. AHS fans got an update from FX this week. The network announced that AHS season 10 has been pushed back to 2021 due to the production shutdown.

Along with the news of AHS coming back next year, Murphy is sharing another clue about what the anthology’s tenth season is about. He took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a new season 10 clue. The clue is another image of a beach setting, reinforcing the assumptions that the new season’s setting and plot won’t change after all.

There have already been a number of theories about what season 10 could be about. Some fans believe it could involve a natural disaster surrounding water like a tsunami or a hurricane. Nevertheless, Murphy made it very clear that his latest post is, in fact, a season 10 clue.

Although we don’t know exactly what AHS season 10 will entail, the cast members for the new season have already been confirmed. Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will be returning for the new season.

Peters revealed last year that he was sitting out the last season and didn’t really expand why. He has previously talked about the mental toll acting on the show takes on him. Paulson also shared recently why she didn’t appear in the show’s ninth season, 1984.

Joining Paulson and Peters for the tenth season are Kathy BatesLeslie GrossmanBillie LourdAdina PorterLily RabeAngelica Ross and Finn Wittrock. Macaulay Culkin will also be joining as an AHS newcomer.

There is no word yet on if Emma Roberts will be making an appearance in season 10. However, fans can expect Jessica Lange to not appear in the new season.

Along with AHS season 10 arriving in 2021, Murphy’s new American Horror Story spinoff has also been added to the FX 2021 release schedule. The spinoff, called American Horror Stories, will feature hour-long episodes that tell a story from beginning to end. It was also reported this month that Murphy is currently working on a new series involving AHS stars Leslie Jordan and Dylan McDermott.

It’s going to be a while until you see Evan Peters return in ‘AHS’ season 10 https://www.altpress.com/american-horror-story-season-10-delayed-2021-spinoff-coming/ Wed, 27 May 2020 03:16:27 +0000 While American Horror Story fans won’t be seeing the tenth season until 2021, the franchise is giving something different with a spinoff series called American Horror Stories.

After AHS creator Ryan Murphy revealed earlier this month that a spinoff series would be arriving, it’s now being confirmed and will be a part of FX’s 2021 release schedule.

The spinoff was initially announced with the news that each hour-long episode will tell a story from beginning to end.

Just like the filming of season 10 and other movie and TV show productions, American Horror Stories will not be able to go into production at the moment due to the coronavirus pandemic. Today, FX is also confirming the delay of season 10 into 2021.

Along with the new spinoff, FX is also greenlighting other shows including Pamela Adlon’s comedy Better Things, New York Times’ documentary series The Weekly and Season 15 of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

As for the tenth season of the franchise’s core series, many details have been revealed already.

Murphy ended up teasing the potential theme for the new season and posted another teaser hinting the new season is focusing heavily on the beach.

The showrunner also talked about what role newcomer Macaulay Culkin would play, in addition to addressing filming concerns due to the coronavirus.

Season 10 cast members Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are making their return which has fans undeniably excited. Sadly, with the delay confirmations for the show pushing it to 2021 fans will be waiting longer to see them return.

Peters revealed last year that he was sitting out the last season and didn’t really expand why. He has previously talked about the mental toll acting on the show takes on him.

Recently, Paulson also shared why she didn’t appear in the show’s ninth season, 1984.

Paulson currently stars on the Hulu show Mrs. America alongside Cate Blanchett. She reveals in an interview with Vulture that in order for her to star in Mrs. America, she could not appear in American Horror Story: 1984.

I want to do this instead’ and he very graciously said ‘yeah.’”

Here’s why Sarah Paulson didn’t appear in ‘American Horror Story: 1984’ https://www.altpress.com/sarah-paulson-american-horror-story-1984-appearance/ Thu, 21 May 2020 02:02:51 +0000 https://www.altpress.com/sarah-paulson-american-horror-story-1984-appearance/ Many American Horror Story fans were disappointed when Sarah Paulson did not star in the anthology’s ninth season 1984. However, fans rejoiced earlier this year when it was confirmed Paulson would be returning for the show’s upcoming tenth season.

Now, Paulson is revealing the exact reason why she didn’t appear in American Horror Story: 1984. She is also sharing what is in store for Ryan Murphy‘s next project American Crime Story: Impeachment.

Paulson currently stars on the Hulu show Mrs. America alongside Cate Blanchett. Mrs. America tells the story of the movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) and the unexpected backlash led by a conservative woman named Phyllis Schlafly.

Paulson reveals in a new interview with Vulture that in order for her to star in Mrs. America, she could not appear in American Horror Story:1984.

“It [Mrs. America] was shooting exactly when American Horror Story was shooting, and I thought there was no way I could do both,” Paulson shares. “So I went to Ryan Murphy and I said, ‘do you mind if I sit this season of American Horror Story out? I want to do this instead’ and he very graciously said ‘yeah.'”

However, with the filming of Mrs. America now completed, Paulson is waiting to see what will happen with Murphy’s upcoming shows.

Murphy revealed that due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, filming for season 10 of American Horror Story has been put on hold. The plot for the next season of the anthology is dependent on warm weather. Since the show’s filming schedule has been pushed back to the colder months, Murphy does not know what the future for next season will hold.

Joining Paulson for season 10 will be Evan Peters, Kathy BatesLeslie GrossmanBillie LourdAdina PorterLily RabeAngelica Ross and Finn Wittrock. Macaulay Culkin will also be joining as an AHS newcomer. There is no word yet on if Emma Roberts will be making an appearance in the new season.

When the coronavirus pandemic began, Paulson was in the middle of preparing for her role in American Crime Story: Impeachment. The show follows the events leading up to the impeachment of former president Bill Clinton and was scheduled to premiere in September of this year. However, just like American Horror Story, Impeachment, which Monica Lewinsky is a producer on, has been put on hold.

Despite these delays, Paulson is still preparing for her role as Linda Tripp in Impeachment. Tripp was a civil servant who played a prominent role in the 1998 Clinton-Lewinsky scandal.

“I was in the middle of prepping for Linda and I’m still prepping for Linda,” Paulson says. “There’s so much we don’t know yet, in terms of how all this will settle, that I’m trying to just be gentle with my brain.”

Although some of his projects have been delayed, Murphy is still revealing everything he is working on. Earlier this month, he revealed that an American Horror Story spin-off series is in the works called American Horror Stories. It was also reported this month that Murphy is currently working on a new series involving AHS stars Leslie Jordan and Dylan McDermott.

Apparently this is what Macaulay Culkin is doing in ‘American Horror Story’ https://www.altpress.com/macaulay-culkin-american-horror-story-kathy-bates-crazy-exotic-sex/ Fri, 08 May 2020 00:57:11 +0000 https://www.altpress.com/macaulay-culkin-american-horror-story-kathy-bates-crazy-exotic-sex/ The upcoming season of American Horror Story is set to be featuring Macaulay Culkin who is saying he’s playing an “insane part” which involves “crazy, erotic sex” with Kathy Bates.

In an interview with E! News, show creator Ryan Murphy says Culkin spoke about his excitement for the part and called it “the role I was born to play.”

While speaking on the new season and Culkin’s inclusion Murphy says it came from a love for what the actor has accomplished.

“You know, it came about just because it’s how I always do things where I have always loved Macaulay Culkin’s work,” Murphy says. “I loved everything that he’s done, I love the stuff he did in Home Alone, I also loved the sort of the older, more recent stuff that he did. And he hasn’t worked in a while.”

“So, I have this very, very great insane part. And I asked to speak to him on the phone and he said ok. [When] I cast, I never let people read things, usually. I said, ‘OK, here’s the pitch.’ And I told them the character and I told him he has crazy, erotic sex with Kathy Bates and does other things. And he paused and he goes, ‘This sounds like the role I was born to play.’ So, he signed up right then and there.”

Adding to that, Murphy says he’s specifically excited about including Culkin “because I think he’s fascinating and interesting, and I think he has a soul. There’s both a lightness and a darkness with Macaulay Culkin that I’m attracted to.”

The forthcoming tenth season of American Horror Story is written and ready for filming once productions are allowed to commence.

In an interview with The Wrap, Murphy shares that season 10’s plot is greatly dependent on warmer weather. As production is likely to be stopped for quite some time, pushing filming into the colder months, Murphy says a lot of things will have to be reevaluated.

“A lot of what I was going to shoot was dependent on a very specific moment,” Murphy says. “It was a weather-dependent show. So now I don’t know. I don’t know what we’re going to do.”

Murphy says he’s evaluating whether or not he’s going to change the season or work on another in the meantime. “I don’t know what I’m going to do next with that show,” he shares. “I don’t know if I’ll accelerate another season or wait til next year to shoot this one.”

Nevertheless, the actors and crew are stoked to get working on the season.

Here’s why ‘American Horror Story’ season 10’s theme could change https://www.altpress.com/ryan-murphy-american-horror-story-season-10-coronavirus-delay/ Wed, 06 May 2020 00:03:01 +0000 American Horror Story fans have been waiting in anticipation for more information surrounding season 10 of the anthology. So far this year, creator Ryan Murphy has posted a few cryptics teasers for the forthcoming season. Although no concrete information or release date has been announced yet, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has greatly impacted both the filming and possibly the overall theme for season 10.

Murphy shared in an interview today that he may have to reimagine American Horror Story‘s new season in its entirety.

Due to coronavirus, a number of television productions have been impacted including Stranger Things and The Umbrella Academy. For American Horror Story season 10, however, production hasn’t even started. The new season was set to begin filming soon and now has been postponed indefinitely. The delay in the show’s production schedule has created a very specific problem for Murphy and those involved.

Due to the uncertainty of current circumstances, Murphy is unsure about the fate of the season 10 he had planned in his mind. At this time, he is weighing his options on when filming can begin and what plot will be in store for the forthcoming AHS season.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do next with that show,” he shares. “I don’t know if I’ll accelerate another season or wait til next year to shoot this one.”

Despite the setback, Murphy shares that the cast and crew of American Horror Story are eager to get back to work.

“You know, nobody so far has called me up and said, ‘OK, we have a plan to move forward for shooting,'” he says. “So until that day, everybody is kind of on pause. I honestly don’t know. But it’s a great season and I know all the actors are chomping at the bit to get into it.”

Season 9, American Horror Story: 1984, hit the small screen in September of 2019. So far, a number of actors have been confirmed for season 10. Back in January, Sara Paulson announced her return for season 10 alongside Evan Peters. Both Paulson and Peters were absent in season 9 of the anthology.

Joining Paulson and Peters for season 10 will be Kathy Bates, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross and Finn Wittrock. Macaulay Culkin will also be joining season 10 as an AHS newcomer. There is no word yet on if Emma Roberts will be making an appearance in the new season.

Since the end of American Horror Story: 1984, fans have been theorizing what season 10 could be about. Murphy’s teased a poster for season 10 that features a beach setting.

Along with the caption, “Things are beginning to wash up on shore…,” many fans are speculating that the new season could be based around water or the beach. This would correspond with Murphy’s latest statement that season 10’s filming is weather-dependent.

Other than the teasers shared by Murphy, no details regarding season 10’s plot have been shared yet. So until Murphy reveals more about the fate of the forthcoming season and the changes that could be made to it, we will have to sit and theorize about what is in store for American Horror Story for now.
